*Hickory, NC - Mom and daughter Chihuahuas NEED RESCUE ASAP!! - SPAYED, housebroken

9-29-13:  RESCUED!
Rescued once already, now Landlord says they must go! Can someone please take Mommy and daughter Ellie!!
*From Joan: PLEASE help!! This woman has two bonded adorable little babies she has to re-home immediately. She is in danger of being evicted.
*From Stephanie: I have two precious female Chihuahuas , mom and daughter. Mommy is 7 and Ellie is 4. Both girls are spayed, up to date on Rabies shots, de-wormed and heart worm negative. They are both house trained, leash trained, and love to go for walks.

I rescued these girls from a couple that weren't taking proper care of them, and both previous owners were in poor health themselves and had no business owning pets. If I hadn't taken them they would have ended up at the pound and I couldn't have that.

I would love to keep these sweet girls, however, due to changes in my rent agreement my landlord will not let me keep them. I was instructed to get them out of the apartment ASAP!

These girls are very attached to each other, as they have never spent a day apart since Ellie was born 4 years ago. They are so sweet, so full of affection! Mommy still grooms Ellie every day as she did when she was a pup, so precious to watch. They give wonderful kisses to me and we cuddle all the time, they sleep next to me, under the covers every night.

They are good with other dogs, they may bark, but I haven't seen any aggression. Not sure how they are with cats as I haven't seen them around a cat. I have seen them with children who know how to treat and act around dogs and they do very well. They bark at strangers but quickly wag their tails and are ready to love on them.

Please, I must find a home for them like...yesterday! I am in violation of my lease agreement as instructed by my landlord, if I don't find theses girls a home immediately I could be evicted and I don't want to have to take them to the pound, it breaks my heart just thinking about it!!! Stephanie

Atlanta,GA_ $300__ Senior dog THROWN from car__ next to die at shelter !!!!

This sweet senior dog was thrown from a car... Please help save MAITI.
"Maiti" is her name - her number is -- A458411
$300 SPONSORSHIP money goes TO THE PERSON who saves her !!

We witnessed this girl being thrown from a car at the top of the hill to our parking lot. She's very sweet and likes to sleep a lot. She's been someone's pet at some time.

CONTACT: Email: rescue@fultonanimalservices.com

She is fat and other than age-related health problems she is ok. She does have arthritis and is on pain management for that. She needs a rescue to help her. She has been vaccinated and is heartworm negative. She weighs around 50 lbs, but is a little chunky.

Vance Co, NC - MOM & DAUGHTER - REJECTED TOO MANY TIMES - PLEASE SAVE THEM!

MISTRESS & HER DAUGHTER, PRINCESS - REJECTED AGAIN
$800 in sponsorsship! WE MUST MOVE THEM TO RESCUE!

Mistress & her newborn pups, Princess & Duchess were sent to rescue & returned several months later since the rescue wasn't able to find homes for them.  This beautiful family waited another 2 months while we pleaded for rescue placement. Finally we thought we had found their big break...a rescue committed to taking them!!! We were thrilled, they were moved out of the death row and finally had their chance at finding families & happy lives. Several weeks later the rescue backed out.  Our hearts have broken a hundred times over for this precious little family, rejected yet again through no fault of their own.  Another setback, another rejection, another chance gone. Duchess finally did find rescue & is blossoming in her foster home.

We are pleading a final time to save Mistress & Princess.  We must find placement for them this weekend.  MISTRESS is approx 2 yrs old, SPAYED, fully treated for heartworms with immiticide & has completed recovery.  PRINCESS is now 7 months old, SPAYED and HW negative. Due to being rejected so many times, they are shy & withdrawn. Who can blame them? Humans have not shown them compassion, humans have failed them. They deserve better, they deserve a real chance, they deserve unconditional love, they deserve to never be given up on. They get along with other dogs, are not good with kids (they are scared & bark at them), but great with people. SEE VIDEO LINKS BELOW!!!

Please, please save this mom & daughter.  You could be their last hope.  CONTACT: VanceShelterResq@aol.com

Goldsboro, NC - wonderful, loyal Service girl is an owner surrender!!

Owner Surrenders a Loyal Service Dog after 8 years - Sad Poochie doesn't understand why she's been abandoned.
*From T: This has greatly upset me. Look at precious Poochie as a puppy, she was a precious and loyal companion, now dumped to die by her owner. Owner surrenders are killed quickly. Animals are always so wonderful, so amazingly loyal and intelligent, and such a joy. People are too often disappointing, disloyal, ignorant and selfish, which appears to be the case in the betrayal by the owner whom this dog served for eight years as a service dog. Also, it would be appreciated if people would stop referring to dogs who are only eight years old as senior dogs. That is ridiculous, and makes no sense, since my dogs, and other dogs I know who are eight years old, are very youthful, like puppies, and they sometimes live to be as old as fifteen or longer.

Now, here is this sweet and wonderful girl who was dumped at Animal Control. Words cannot express my feelings regarding this wonderful girl's being left somewhere to be killed. I am very saddened, and I am begging for this girl to be removed from this place quickly and taken to a loving, happy place where she can be adopted into a responsible, reliable home where she can be loved and appreciated as a wonderful member of a loving family. Please help her!
~Temple

What a sad story for this dog. Hope someone can help!

Mt. Airy, NC: Sam needs boarding/foster or adopter IMMEDIATELY!

Sam is a super sweet happy-go-lucky guy who has no idea his life was about to end.  Sam was pulled from the pound and put in boarding to buy him time.

He is the perfect family dog who will bring years of joy and happiness to his people.  NOTE:  Sam, like all dogs, needs a home where he will be part of the family -- not a dog to be kept in the yard 24/7.  There will be a home and vet check especially since the recent eye opener of what can happen -- horrific daily abuse of Puppy Doe who was tortured for years at the hands of a person answering an inane "Free to good home" ad.  There is a $5000 reward for the person who tortured Puppy Doe -- may she RIP.
Transport is available to anywhere from me  ((chibob44@aol.com))  and I can do the checks before turning Sam over to his new people.

Sam is an amazing boy that needed to find safety right away.  We thought he was safe, Then his new foster mom was instructed by her landlord that he had to go because of weight limitations.

Poor Sam is a charming boy that is sweet and gentle (even though he is 70 pounds) and very calm for 1.5 yrs old.  He is neutered, social and house trained.  If you can help him please let me know. He is am amazing dog and deserves a chance.

The boarding facility for Sam is Lucky Bones Country Club for Dogs @ $10 a day.  Anyone wishing to help buy him time please call the boarding place.

Atglen, PA (NW of Philly): Nadja, Gorgeous Shepherd/Malinois Puppy

This puppy needs a special family ready to love her.

NADJA was transported to PA from Florida right out of a HIGH Kill Shelter…not exactly sure what happened BUT the Adopter decided she didn’t want her and did not feed her!

This wonderful woman named Sheila heard about the situation and literally ran over to get the dog…an hour away! The adopter did not want to relinquish the dog UNTIL her adoption fee was returned. Somehow Sheila got the dog and took her HOME. Sheila rescues cats but she could NOT let this dog suffer any more than she already had. Sheila has had Nadja for 3 weeks now…not able to afford training she is having trouble with Nadja lunging at the cats…and can not be left alone with them. Sheila had hoped to be able to HOME the dog but it will not be possible. She LOVES the dog but there is too much discomfort in the house with her beloved cats. They are miserable!!! Sheila cannot keep Nadja so advice is not what we need. This beautiful girl DESERVES a chance at a good life…She is VERY SMART and DEVOTED. Can someone offer her the HOME she needs??

Castaic, CA: Beautiful Blind GSD/Sharpei mix, Bailey in Urgent Need

German Shepherd / Sharpei mix Bailey is blind! He has rescue offer but ONLY if So Cal foster can be found by Monday - or he will be killed by Castaic shelter!

VISIT BAILEY'S THREAD  The rescue offer is from People Loving Pets based in Sun Valley, So Cal. Please share Bailey for foster offer BY MONDAY OR HE DIES - it would be so tragic for this blind baby to die when a rescue is willing to take him, if only someone would open their heart and home for Bailey!
Lynda Hill says...

Bailey is looking for a Miracle and a Guardian Angel... Bailey is Blind!!

Castaic Shelter (Ca) A4631893. He needs to be out of the shelter by Monday 9/23 at closing.

Bailey was owner surrendered at the Castaic Shelter on September 13, 2013. His former owner named him Bumper because he is Blind. That is awful, I have re-named him Bailey.

Bailey is a little over one year old. He is a German Shepherd/Sharpei Mix. He weighs about 40 pounds and is very submissive. Bailey has spent most of his life outdoors with little interaction with people. Apparently when the grand kids came over they frightened Bailey and he became growley at them. That is the reason given by his previous owner as to why Bailey was turned into the Castaic Shelter. He does not even know what a leash is; he has not had any kind of training what-so-ever. His former owner said he does get along with bigger dogs. Bailey is depressed, lonely and feeling so hopeless he actually tries to crawl into the corner of the kennel and make himself small so no one will see him. When I talk to him and let him smell my hand he lets me pat him and touch him without any adverse reactions. He does lick my hand; He wants to trust but does not know how yet.

The shelter manager has not given me much time for a rescue to commit to take Bailey.

I am asking and begging if there is any chance or possibility that someone out there can rescue Bailey and save his Life....
I really believe in Bailey. He has been through so much in his short life and deserves a second chance.

Thank you for considering Bailey. Time is of the essence.

GIRARD, GA - Two MORE Dumped at Local Dumpster! - Need Rescue, and out of Hell Hole

Two Dogs found at a local dumpster Need Help ASAP!!
*From S: I was trying to get the grass cut today and three different cars stopped in my yard about animals. It is getting to the point I am afraid to come out of the house anymore! They do not have anyone else to turn to and I am BEYOND full and cannot do more than post out now for help and care for and try to find homes and rescues for the ones I already have. I get 2 or three out and 7 and 8 come in! It really is a hell hole here for the poor helpless animals.

I am posting out these two dogs in hope of a good rescue and in hopes they can get out of Rural South Ga. (Hell Hole USA)!

The lady had both dogs in the front of her truck and had just picked them up at the dumpster. They were beyond thirsty and I went inside and got them some water, grabbed my camera and some Frontline Plus as they had lots of ticks on them.

She said to me that if I could not take them that her husband was going to kill her. Well I hope he doesn't because I had absolutely no room anywhere for them. I told her I would help all I could with trying to find them a good place to go who could find them homes if she could keep them for a few days.

She said she has a rescued pit bull at home and was not sure how he would do with them. She was going to go and buy some chains to keep them on for the time being until hopefully they can find a rescue able to take them. She said she hated to do that but it was the only thing she could do because like me, she too had nowhere to put them.

Both dogs appear to be very young by their teeth and the White and Brown dog I think is her sibling although he looks to be maybe 8 months old. She doesn't look much more than a year old and this was probably the last sibling to her first litter of puppies. I am not sure of the breed but they are both very pretty dogs and the younger one has an almost solid white body but his little head is brown/Brindle. The Mama dog smiles at you when you speak to her.
Is there anyone out there who is not full to the gills, who can help these two precious dogs. The woman will have no alternative but to take them to the pound in Augusta (kill shelter) if we cannot find reputable rescue for them. Mama dog is very skinny and you can see her ribs even through her long coat.
Please pass this on to your contacts and hopefully someone will see them and be able to help. Thank You for sharing and for any help with finding these two precious dogs a rescue or home!

Please contact me if you can help. My contact info is below in my signature line.

Lexington, KY: Found Dog, Jake, Needs Rescue ASAP! Lab/Newfie mix, Vetting!

He's beautiful! Big Jake was found by a good Samaritan with no room, must find him a home immediately.
CONTACT: Sarah at sarahthewayhome@gmail.com
TWHRA was contacted by a good Samaritan requesting help in finding placement for a stray dog she found. She is calling him Jake. For several weeks efforts have been made to find Jake’s owner, but to no avail. This kind person does not want to take Jake to the pound, but she cannot afford to keep a fifth dog; she already has four of her own.

Jake has been taken to the vet since being found. He is already neutered, and has received his rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines, and heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Jake is a black lab/newfie mix, about 100 pounds, vet estimated him to be 4-6 years old. Jake is very friendly, great with other dogs, cats, people and ferrets too! He is house-trained and does not require a crate when left alone in the house. It is believed that Jake may have previously been a farm dog, as it has taken him a while to adjust to ‘city’ life, but he’s come around quickly and is getting comfortable with his surroundings. Jake does have a tendency to attempt to bolt out of the front door when it’s opened. He would need a fenced in back yard and caution must be taken when going in/out of a door that does not lead to a fenced area.

This good Samaritan needs to find placement for Jake as soon as possible. If your rescue can help Jake, please email Sarah at sarahthewayhome@gmail.com. TWHRA is willing to provide some transport assistance. Please feel free to share and crosspost. No internet classifieds or craigslist please.

Thank you!

So Rosanne M. and I got back on the Fire Island ferry today and rescued a sick cat we saw while we were there on Monday. This cat is so sick but he is now at my vet's for the night, getting fluids, pain meds, antibiotics, and tomorrow will begin steroids. A full blood workup is being done. He was such a good boy on the ride back to the main island! Not a peep! We are raising funds for his vet bill. He may have scabies or just a very severe flea infection; he is thin; he also needs dental work. His jaw was so swollen that we thought he might have been kicked in the face. Nope, but he does have severely infected teeth. My vet said he has likely been in a LOT of pain. This cat is so trusting, so affectionate.” PLEASE HELP US HELP HIM.

(more photos below)
Contact Linda at (615)812-1450 or Linda.Blessing@tn.gov and let her know which dog(s) you can help with.

*From Linda: SPCA of Tennessee has been working really hard to get the last of the dogs located in Westpoint, TN to safety. We have removed approximately 40 dogs over the last 2 months and Nashville Humane has been awesomely working with us to take in what they have room for. We have come down to the wire and the remaining dogs at this location are going to be put down due to financial hardship and more so lack of supervision for the dogs. I have been offered sponsorship on three of the dogs so far to a rescue if they will accept them into their program or assist in getting these dogs to safety. The sponsorship funds will be directed straight to the rescue that saves these dogs. A few have already been put down and another round is set for this weekend if no commitment from rescue is received or they are not moved out ASAP. She is not able to care for the remaining 30 dogs and barely keeps them fed.

SPCA has reduced the number of dogs from 70 down to about 30 but we are simply unable to take in any more unless it's just for an overnight layover for transport. PLEASE help crosspost if you are unable to help any of these dogs.

I have pictures and short bios on most of the dogs that may help catch some interest. Most dogs have been spay/neutered and all have had their basic vaccinations.

Cleveland, GA: 10 month old perfect boy dog named Lucky

This friendly and affectionate boy has been at the shelter, patiently waiting for a family to love and someone to play with.  Read about him from a wonderful volunteer who finds it harder and harder to send him back to his pen each time she visits him.

"Lucky is about 10 months old and very healthy and active.  Incredibly affectionate and very tuned into you the minute you start speaking to him.  Has all his shots and vaccines, too.

He needs a family with kids (he's very playful) or with very active adults who love to hike, run or whatever. He's not trained so would be great for someone who wants to become his master and have them become the center of his world.  I'm not sure about his breed, but is a very smart one, for sure.

He'd go crazy being fenced in day and night or tethered and needs to be part of a family setting.  He's so lovable, it's difficult to send him back into the shelter, but everyone there just adores him. Anyone who would adopt him would be very LUCKY!!

Thanks for sending this to your groups and if anyone wants to know more, they can  call Jane at 706-878-3663 or Kathy at Smithgall Woods Animal Shelter at 706-865-4135.

LILLY LOST her HOME after Storm IRENE…Wonderful Seniors have been feeding her…they can no longer care for her due to the RULES of the CENTER!!! LILLY needs a HOME or FOSTER QUICKLY as in *NOW*… PLEASE Contact Kathy:
LILLY:
Lilly is a stunningly beautiful petite tortoiseshell cat that is about 2 years old and weighs 7 pounds. She is without a doubt the most affectionate cat we have ever rescued. She loves people and purrs non-stop when she is held. She is great with other cats and, when she is not busy charming everyone in the room with her playful antics, kneads herself to sleep.
Lilly was an owned cat until Hurricane Irene when she got lost and found herself begging for food at a senior center in Nassau County. The wonderful seniors were very fond of Lilly and made sure that she got fed every day, but asked us to take her because each time they opened their front door Lilly would try to run into the apartment and, while they would all love to keep her, pets are not allowed at the center.
This cat was obviously treated well her whole life and just needs a loving family that will give her a FOREVER home. Please give her a chance you definitely won’t regret it!
MEDICAL:
Lilly was just given a clean bill of health by a veterinarian. She is spayed, has had all of her shots, been dewormed, tested negative for FELV and positive for FIV.

Landlord wants him OUT OUT OUT
August 19*   Northeast Philadelphia
Contact: Tiffany Clark at shemeher32@yahoo.com or 267-206-2426
***Pretty Boy is a wonderfully friendly male cat that a horrible person threw out onto the streets. A neighbor, unable to take him in, nevertheless began to feed him. Tiffany came upon Pretty Boy and was impressed with hisexcellent behavior and mild manner. She couldn't bear to see him homeless and, while her own cat won't accept a roommate, found him a home with her sister and her 2 young children back in December. All was good until the landlord learned about Pretty Boy and wants him OUT OUT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty Boy desperately needs a foster or forever home or he will be back on the streets. Help!

He does need to be neutered, but is up to date on all shots, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, flea-free and has excellent litter box habits. The vet estimates that he's about 6 years old. He has a sweet, laid back personality and loves everyone. Tiffany is in tears because Pretty Boy is just too good to be without a home. His loving nature and debonair good looks would make him a wonderful addition to your home! She is even willing to make a donation to any rescue that would accept him. Preferably a HOME though!! Transport can be arranged!

Chatsworth GA: The Rest are Dead - share, crosspost, help

*The following is a desperate plea from Rebecca's blog "Kitty Kat Voices"
MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2013
The rest are dead...
Sadly, these kitties will either be euthanized  or get sick soon.  This is the only photo of cats or kittens posted on Murray County GA sheriff's FACEBOOK page, out of 40 in 12 cages last week.
The rest are dead...

I HAVE DONE ALL I CAN DO, AND MY HEART IS BREAKING FOR ALL OF THOSE INNOCENT LIVES.  THIS FORMERLY RESCUE FRIENDLY FACILITY HAS TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE FOR ALL THE KITTIES THAT ENTER THERE.

I WISH TO THANK ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUPPORTED MY EFFORTS AT MURRAY COUNTY ON BEHALF OF THE KITTIES.  WE HAVE MANAGED TO SAVE MANY, WHO WOULD OTHERWISE WOULD HAVE MET THE FATE OF THESE.

THE STRINGENT RULES THAT HAVE BEEN PLACED ON THOSE WHO WOULD RESCUE HAVE MADE IT TOO COSTLY, BOTH FINANCIALLY AND EMOTIONALLY. I PERSONALLY AM IN DEBT AS FAR AS I CAN GO.   CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE.  THE POLITICIANS ARE WINNING.

NO ONE KNOWS HOW DIFFICULT THE LAST MONTHS HAVE BEEN, AND STILL THE KILL RATE GOES UP.  I WISH I COULD UNDERSTAND WHY ANYONE THINKS THIS IS...

Greenville, SC: Tiny miracle kittens, Samson and Delilah ready for a new life.

In her own words, read the story of a rescuer's final save and help her find a perfect home for these miracle kittens.  I dare you not to be touched to the core by Samson and Delilah
The call came in to Concerned Citizens For Animals of a mother who   had not been seen and babies with their eyes still closed. Nothing   more other than an approximate location was given.  The emailer gave   no information of themselves and when we tried to contact them we got
  a return mail response.

I rushed over to the church with the empty parking lot looking for a   trash dumpster where the emailer said they would be found.  A teeny   orange kitty barely able to cry anymore  probably because he had been   crying for a day now was on the sidewalk.  He was covered in blood   and dried on sticky afterbirth.  Mama had just given  birth maybe a   day ago. Looking through the bushes I found another a tortie very   stiff unable to move covered in blood, I thought she was dead, but   their was still life in her.  Further inspection lead me to two more.

Wantagh, NY: The little dog who COULD...

...be a companion, pal, beloved family member.  All he wants is to be loved.
August 5:
"Dillon is still here. Sad mystery that is- he is so well behaved, so good looking and just an all around good boy.
Obviously came from a home, and he needs to be in one again SOON. He is in one of our offices as he just gets too depressed in the kennel and wants to lay nearby a person all day.
Please keep working this great dog like mad! Thanks, Wendy"

July 14: Just got word that DILLON has had NO offers. NONE!! and the shelter is FILLED to the BRIM… Please help this boy find a loving home.
Dillon #1297: 7yr old, Male/Neutered Pointer Mix **House-broken, Crate-trained, knows sit, paw, GREAT COMPANION DOG** Are you Lonesome tonight? well Dillon is! He is lonesome for a home to call his own! Picked up as a stray, only wearing a collar that said "Dillon", someone somewhere gave up on this precious boy! Friendly fella that would be an excellent companion dog for an older couple, maybe someone living on their own looking for a slow walking partner. Or a home with respectful older children (8yrs old). He's best as the only dog in the home, doesn't like to be around other animals.
He just needs someone to take an interest in him and let him know he's loved. Dillon is learning to take treats gently (sometimes he takes them a little hard); his personality and handsome good looks make him irresistible; but NO ONE HAS EVEN PUT AN APPLICATION IN FOR HIM! AND NO RESCUES ARE ABLE TO TAKE HIM! This handsome, good natured boy deserves to be living in a home, NOT A SHELTER.
