Five of the dogs are still at a boarding kennel. They need fosters or adoption ASAP. For more information, click here. If you can’t foster or adopt, please consider a donation. Click the Paypal Donation button at right to help cover continued boarding costs.
We came together to help rescue THE SUSSEX HOUNDS. This blog is now a means to help other animals in need, to tell their stories, to connect with other rescues and shelters.

Reposting: These 5 dogs are still in the kennel
Did you know that a rescued dog can become the best friend you've ever had? There are still 5 Sussex Hounds at the boarding kennel that need a home...Buck, Fred, Twiggy, Bella and Foxy. Why not foster or adopt one of these dogs today? We guarantee you'll make a friend for life! If you can help donate please please press the donation button in the right column and enter an amount. These Doggies Thank You! NOTE: All 10 Sussex hounds need forever homes, but we are grateful to the foster homes who took the first 5.

This guy needs your help too!
UPDATE -- Hooray!! Houligan's Rest has stepped up to take him, but he will still need a temporary inside foster home.
Sweet older shepherd mix wandered into someone's yard on Sunday afternoon (01/16/2011) in Maidens, Goochland (VA). Black with tan legs and face, muzzle going gray. Big shaggy mane, looks like he had a collar on recently. Friendly, skinny, missing his family. Animal Control picked him up on Monday the 17th with plans to euthanize on the 23rd (today). However, a group of rescuers and Houligan's Rest have stepped in to save his life. We will have a direct contact within 24 hours if you know who owns this dog, or anybody who might want to adopt him. Please don't hesitate to help!
