"Hi Fellow Dog Lovers!

I have a very special girl and seeking help finding a home. If you are local, you are familiar with the young lady that was recently stabbed to death while at work at Wendy's in Magee. Her boyfriend, her child's father, killed her.

This sweet, very timid dog belonged to the deceased. The boyfriend also abused this dog. She has a dent in her head. It broke my heart when I saw her, she has the same dent as Maggie Mae (Mary picked Maggie Mae up for me, her owner beat her with a steal pipe in the head and went to jail).

I call this little lady Golden Girl. I know very little about her. I believe she is about 6-8 months old. She is very sweet and scared. I am attaching photos and will get her spayed ASAP, and a complete examination.

Thank You!
Martha Ross

Long Island, NY *Candy 7 Year Old Calico *Lost her Elderly Mom to Assisted Living

Candy, 7 Year Old Calico who Lost her Elderly Mom to Assisted Living now needs your help.
UPDATE: You may remember this story - 3 kitties losing their home when mom is moved into a nursing facility. 2 kitties have been adopted, but Candy became sick.
*From Trudy: **Candy's Story gets sadder...she had a wonderful adopter ready to bring her HOME...then Candy stopped eating for 4 days and was rushed to Vet Hospital as Emergency by her foster Mom, Patty Burkhart...
10 days later Candy is still there and now has a definite diagnosis of ***Kidney Disease (See Info below)... She is doing very well now... EATING & playing and a VERY nice kitty.
***Candy will need sub q fluids DAILY for the rest of her life....she will need to be on a Special Diet for Kidney Disease...THIS is going to make finding a Special HOME for Candy a MUST!!! Candy has NO WHERE to Go…we couldn’t post for her HOME until we knew what her diagnosis was…
I know that some of you or people you know have had experience with sub q fluids...
Even I did it for 3 years and it gave our cat an incredible quality of life that she would never have had. I had never put a needle into anything...the needle does NOT go below the skin so it is NOT difficult or painful what so ever!!! I developed a routine and our kitty went right along with it...The vet states that Candy takes the fluids quite easily...that is a blessing!
Candy's 2 house mates have been adopted into WONDERFUL HOMES...Skippy and DAISY.
I don't know what we will do if we can't find a HOME for Candy...I just don't know...I'm trusting that somehow we will...Please Help this Beautiful Girl get HOME!!! (Transport Arranged to Approved HOME)
CONTACT Patty peetieb@aol.com
OR tssh1@optonline.net

Patty is PRO...if you've never given fluids, it is NOT HARD but it is a commitment... A Commitment to Candy...

Chester, PA ** Two Beautiful ABANDONED Cats Begging to Come IN, please help find these cats a home.

The neighborhood delinquents are threatening the cats. Read their story below…

Oct 9, 2013 CHESTER, PA
From a Kind Hearted Woman, CONNIE:
Connie is hoping to find a home for these two abandoned cats...ironically they were from separate HOMES but they have BONDED together in their search for Food, LOVE & Shelter...They ...are EXTREMELY FRIENDLY and Begging to Come In...
Call Connie OR LISA: fallinangell25@gmail.com
610.990.2208 or 610.872.8325

“Hi, I live in Chester, Pa (between Philly and Delaware) and I am desperately looking for a rescue who has room for two adult cats who we're thrown onto the street at different times but have teamed up together and formed a tight bond.
The first one is a tortoiseshell female, she was put out onto the streets when her owners son had to be hospitalized "supposedly" the doctors said it was because he was allergic to the cat. I have since gotten her spayed when i did a TNR
program with forgotten cats, she also was given her rabies shot. She is a very girly girl cat (if that makes any sense)she loves to be petted and she loves to play but doesn't like to be picked up. She won't scratch though, if you happen to pick her up, she just will jump off of you the minute you let go.
The second one is a beautiful orange and white male. He was put out of his home (I'm thinking) a day or two after we ended TNR. His owners have since moved away but he continues to meow and scratch at their door to be let in. I also believe he was abused! When he first appeared he was skin and bones and very afraid of every movement and sound. I have since worked with him and he is now trusting of people again and will do the funniest things to get your attention so you will pet him. But he also breaks my heart at night when the other cats come to eat, one cat in particular , a BIG tom cat is always beating or trying to beat him up, or chase him off so as soon as he sees him coming he runs up to our porch door stands on his hind legs and looks in at us with a look on his face that we can't resist so we let him into our screened in porch until the other cat leaves. He is also fond of other animals, he loves to hang out on the ledge of our porch while our four cats lounge next to him on the other side of the screen. He is also great around our small dog.
I just feel really bad with winter coming.. Although they both always have access to food and water I worry about them staying warm because where they have been sleeping is under our snowball bush and i know they have to get cold since their little bodies aren't used to the cold weather and they are both small with not a lot of meat on them. Another thing that worries me is the fact that every time we go to walk somewhere both cats are behind us, following us, and it is nearly impossible to get them to stay here until we get back so we wind up standing in the middle of streets while they both take their time to cross every street. It's cute!! But around here it's very unsafe!!
And another thing we worry about is the kids around here, and also the neighbors because the one neighbor has sprayed them with raid on more than a few occasions because they were on her porch and another chases them with a broom. and because the cats don't leave the front of our house the kids are always messing with them trying to scare them either by stomping their feet at them or by throwing rocks at them and the list continues.. we have also found cats dead in the past because of these kids.. We (my family) have gotten into many arguments with parents because of their kids trying to harm these cat, so please if you have room or even if you don't but may know someone that does please let me know!?! Thanks
You can either email me back or you can call 610.990.2208 or 610.872.8325 and ask for either Lisa or Connie.. Thank you!

Please help this little girl beat pneumonia and have the happy life she deserves.
*From K: Sweet Lucy is a Chihuahua who is approximately 2 years old. I rescued from a kill shelter in South Carolina a week and a half ago. She is a sweet, quiet little girl who was emaciated and scared to death in that shelter. I found her a wonderful foster home in Maryland and new she would have a wonderful chance in life with her so I had her transported there last Wednesday the 2nd of October. The following Saturday, October 5th, Lucy fell gravely ill and was rushed to the Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medical and Emergency Center in Annapolis Maryland by her foster mom. Poor Lucy now has Pneumonia and will die without continuing treatment. She is now going into her second day there and unsure when she will be well enough to be released. Her foster mom is trying to do the right thing and get her the treatment she needs but does not have the money to pay for all of this. PLEASE help Lucy get better and contribute towards her hospital bill so Lucy can finally have a chance at finding her forever home. Life for sweet Lucy has not been fair and we need your help to ensure she finally gets the forever home she deserves! Any contribution will help, nothing is too small. This little girl deserves better. Please share with your friends and help Lucy get better! If you look at that face, you'll fall in Love with her too. SpayedYes, as a puppy

Records: We have vet records and she is recent on rabies vaccine through 12/8/15. She will need DHPP/Bordetella, we are willing to pay for these.

Leash/Car: She is leash trained, and loves to ride in the car.

Weddington, NC: Minnie, tiny chihuahua - 7 pounds of love and spunk

                                  10-10-13:  ADOPTED!!!
Meet Minnie!  This approx 1 year old female Chihuahua is just under 7 pounds.  She is a special little survivor!

Minnie was found wandering on a busy street.  Minnie may be small but she has a big dog personality..she likes to be the boss.

She does really well with other dogs, but seems to coexist best with other male dogs.   She loves humans and has a very loving, outgoing personality.

This dog does not crate well and will scream if put in one.  She is housetrained and a door dasher.   Leash walks and a securely fenced yard will keep her safe.   Due to her chihuahua tendency to sometimes be protective, she cannot go to a home with children.

By the way, Minnie has only one eye (it seems to have been surgically removed according to the vet) but it doesn't seem to stop her.   She is happy and ready to be loved forever.

There will be an adoption fee to cover medical as we are not  a rescue but an independent rescuer and all her work has been done.

For more info, please email:  ncls@windstream.net

*Hickory, NC - Mom and daughter Chihuahuas NEED RESCUE ASAP!! - SPAYED, housebroken

9-29-13:  RESCUED!
Rescued once already, now Landlord says they must go! Can someone please take Mommy and daughter Ellie!!
*From Joan: PLEASE help!! This woman has two bonded adorable little babies she has to re-home immediately. She is in danger of being evicted.
*From Stephanie: I have two precious female Chihuahuas , mom and daughter. Mommy is 7 and Ellie is 4. Both girls are spayed, up to date on Rabies shots, de-wormed and heart worm negative. They are both house trained, leash trained, and love to go for walks.

I rescued these girls from a couple that weren't taking proper care of them, and both previous owners were in poor health themselves and had no business owning pets. If I hadn't taken them they would have ended up at the pound and I couldn't have that.

I would love to keep these sweet girls, however, due to changes in my rent agreement my landlord will not let me keep them. I was instructed to get them out of the apartment ASAP!

These girls are very attached to each other, as they have never spent a day apart since Ellie was born 4 years ago. They are so sweet, so full of affection! Mommy still grooms Ellie every day as she did when she was a pup, so precious to watch. They give wonderful kisses to me and we cuddle all the time, they sleep next to me, under the covers every night.

They are good with other dogs, they may bark, but I haven't seen any aggression. Not sure how they are with cats as I haven't seen them around a cat. I have seen them with children who know how to treat and act around dogs and they do very well. They bark at strangers but quickly wag their tails and are ready to love on them.

Please, I must find a home for them like...yesterday! I am in violation of my lease agreement as instructed by my landlord, if I don't find theses girls a home immediately I could be evicted and I don't want to have to take them to the pound, it breaks my heart just thinking about it!!! Stephanie

Atlanta,GA_ $300__ Senior dog THROWN from car__ next to die at shelter !!!!

This sweet senior dog was thrown from a car... Please help save MAITI.
"Maiti" is her name - her number is -- A458411
$300 SPONSORSHIP money goes TO THE PERSON who saves her !!

We witnessed this girl being thrown from a car at the top of the hill to our parking lot. She's very sweet and likes to sleep a lot. She's been someone's pet at some time.

CONTACT: Email: rescue@fultonanimalservices.com

She is fat and other than age-related health problems she is ok. She does have arthritis and is on pain management for that. She needs a rescue to help her. She has been vaccinated and is heartworm negative. She weighs around 50 lbs, but is a little chunky.

Vance Co, NC - MOM & DAUGHTER - REJECTED TOO MANY TIMES - PLEASE SAVE THEM!

MISTRESS & HER DAUGHTER, PRINCESS - REJECTED AGAIN
$800 in sponsorsship! WE MUST MOVE THEM TO RESCUE!

Mistress & her newborn pups, Princess & Duchess were sent to rescue & returned several months later since the rescue wasn't able to find homes for them.  This beautiful family waited another 2 months while we pleaded for rescue placement. Finally we thought we had found their big break...a rescue committed to taking them!!! We were thrilled, they were moved out of the death row and finally had their chance at finding families & happy lives. Several weeks later the rescue backed out.  Our hearts have broken a hundred times over for this precious little family, rejected yet again through no fault of their own.  Another setback, another rejection, another chance gone. Duchess finally did find rescue & is blossoming in her foster home.

We are pleading a final time to save Mistress & Princess.  We must find placement for them this weekend.  MISTRESS is approx 2 yrs old, SPAYED, fully treated for heartworms with immiticide & has completed recovery.  PRINCESS is now 7 months old, SPAYED and HW negative. Due to being rejected so many times, they are shy & withdrawn. Who can blame them? Humans have not shown them compassion, humans have failed them. They deserve better, they deserve a real chance, they deserve unconditional love, they deserve to never be given up on. They get along with other dogs, are not good with kids (they are scared & bark at them), but great with people. SEE VIDEO LINKS BELOW!!!

Please, please save this mom & daughter.  You could be their last hope.  CONTACT: VanceShelterResq@aol.com

Goldsboro, NC - wonderful, loyal Service girl is an owner surrender!!

Owner Surrenders a Loyal Service Dog after 8 years - Sad Poochie doesn't understand why she's been abandoned.
*From T: This has greatly upset me. Look at precious Poochie as a puppy, she was a precious and loyal companion, now dumped to die by her owner. Owner surrenders are killed quickly. Animals are always so wonderful, so amazingly loyal and intelligent, and such a joy. People are too often disappointing, disloyal, ignorant and selfish, which appears to be the case in the betrayal by the owner whom this dog served for eight years as a service dog. Also, it would be appreciated if people would stop referring to dogs who are only eight years old as senior dogs. That is ridiculous, and makes no sense, since my dogs, and other dogs I know who are eight years old, are very youthful, like puppies, and they sometimes live to be as old as fifteen or longer.

Now, here is this sweet and wonderful girl who was dumped at Animal Control. Words cannot express my feelings regarding this wonderful girl's being left somewhere to be killed. I am very saddened, and I am begging for this girl to be removed from this place quickly and taken to a loving, happy place where she can be adopted into a responsible, reliable home where she can be loved and appreciated as a wonderful member of a loving family. Please help her!

Mt. Airy, NC: Sam needs boarding/foster or adopter IMMEDIATELY!

Sam is a super sweet happy-go-lucky guy who has no idea his life was about to end.  Sam was pulled from the pound and put in boarding to buy him time.

He is the perfect family dog who will bring years of joy and happiness to his people.  NOTE:  Sam, like all dogs, needs a home where he will be part of the family -- not a dog to be kept in the yard 24/7.  There will be a home and vet check especially since the recent eye opener of what can happen -- horrific daily abuse of Puppy Doe who was tortured for years at the hands of a person answering an inane "Free to good home" ad.  There is a $5000 reward for the person who tortured Puppy Doe -- may she RIP.
Transport is available to anywhere from me  ((chibob44@aol.com))  and I can do the checks before turning Sam over to his new people.

Sam is an amazing boy that needed to find safety right away.  We thought he was safe, Then his new foster mom was instructed by her landlord that he had to go because of weight limitations.

Poor Sam is a charming boy that is sweet and gentle (even though he is 70 pounds) and very calm for 1.5 yrs old.  He is neutered, social and house trained.  If you can help him please let me know. He is am amazing dog and deserves a chance.

The boarding facility for Sam is Lucky Bones Country Club for Dogs @ $10 a day.  Anyone wishing to help buy him time please call the boarding place.

This puppy needs a special family ready to love her.

This wonderful woman named Sheila heard about the situation and literally ran over to get the dog…an hour away! The adopter did not want to relinquish the dog UNTIL her adoption fee was returned. Somehow Sheila got the dog and took her HOME. Sheila rescues cats but she could NOT let this dog suffer any more than she already had. Sheila has had Nadja for 3 weeks now…not able to afford training she is having trouble with Nadja lunging at the cats…and can not be left alone with them. Sheila had hoped to be able to HOME the dog but it will not be possible. She LOVES the dog but there is too much discomfort in the house with her beloved cats. They are miserable!!! Sheila cannot keep Nadja so advice is not what we need. This beautiful girl DESERVES a chance at a good life…She is VERY SMART and DEVOTED. Can someone offer her the HOME she needs??

Castaic Shelter (Ca) A4631893. He needs to be out of the shelter by Monday 9/23 at closing.

Bailey was owner surrendered at the Castaic Shelter on September 13, 2013. His former owner named him Bumper because he is Blind. That is awful, I have re-named him Bailey.

Bailey is a little over one year old. He is a German Shepherd/Sharpei Mix. He weighs about 40 pounds and is very submissive. Bailey has spent most of his life outdoors with little interaction with people. Apparently when the grand kids came over they frightened Bailey and he became growley at them. That is the reason given by his previous owner as to why Bailey was turned into the Castaic Shelter. He does not even know what a leash is; he has not had any kind of training what-so-ever. His former owner said he does get along with bigger dogs. Bailey is depressed, lonely and feeling so hopeless he actually tries to crawl into the corner of the kennel and make himself small so no one will see him. When I talk to him and let him smell my hand he lets me pat him and touch him without any adverse reactions. He does lick my hand; He wants to trust but does not know how yet.

The shelter manager has not given me much time for a rescue to commit to take Bailey.

I am asking and begging if there is any chance or possibility that someone out there can rescue Bailey and save his Life....
I really believe in Bailey. He has been through so much in his short life and deserves a second chance.

Thank you for considering Bailey. Time is of the essence.

GIRARD, GA - Two MORE Dumped at Local Dumpster! - Need Rescue, and out of Hell Hole

Two Dogs found at a local dumpster Need Help ASAP!!
*From S: I was trying to get the grass cut today and three different cars stopped in my yard about animals. It is getting to the point I am afraid to come out of the house anymore! They do not have anyone else to turn to and I am BEYOND full and cannot do more than post out now for help and care for and try to find homes and rescues for the ones I already have. I get 2 or three out and 7 and 8 come in! It really is a hell hole here for the poor helpless animals.

I am posting out these two dogs in hope of a good rescue and in hopes they can get out of Rural South Ga. (Hell Hole USA)!

The lady had both dogs in the front of her truck and had just picked them up at the dumpster. They were beyond thirsty and I went inside and got them some water, grabbed my camera and some Frontline Plus as they had lots of ticks on them.

She said to me that if I could not take them that her husband was going to kill her. Well I hope he doesn't because I had absolutely no room anywhere for them. I told her I would help all I could with trying to find them a good place to go who could find them homes if she could keep them for a few days.

She said she has a rescued pit bull at home and was not sure how he would do with them. She was going to go and buy some chains to keep them on for the time being until hopefully they can find a rescue able to take them. She said she hated to do that but it was the only thing she could do because like me, she too had nowhere to put them.

Both dogs appear to be very young by their teeth and the White and Brown dog I think is her sibling although he looks to be maybe 8 months old. She doesn't look much more than a year old and this was probably the last sibling to her first litter of puppies. I am not sure of the breed but they are both very pretty dogs and the younger one has an almost solid white body but his little head is brown/Brindle. The Mama dog smiles at you when you speak to her.
Is there anyone out there who is not full to the gills, who can help these two precious dogs. The woman will have no alternative but to take them to the pound in Augusta (kill shelter) if we cannot find reputable rescue for them. Mama dog is very skinny and you can see her ribs even through her long coat.
Please pass this on to your contacts and hopefully someone will see them and be able to help. Thank You for sharing and for any help with finding these two precious dogs a rescue or home!

Please contact me if you can help. My contact info is below in my signature line.

Lexington, KY: Found Dog, Jake, Needs Rescue ASAP! Lab/Newfie mix, Vetting!

He's beautiful! Big Jake was found by a good Samaritan with no room, must find him a home immediately.
CONTACT: Sarah at sarahthewayhome@gmail.com
TWHRA was contacted by a good Samaritan requesting help in finding placement for a stray dog she found. She is calling him Jake. For several weeks efforts have been made to find Jake’s owner, but to no avail. This kind person does not want to take Jake to the pound, but she cannot afford to keep a fifth dog; she already has four of her own.

Jake has been taken to the vet since being found. He is already neutered, and has received his rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines, and heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Jake is a black lab/newfie mix, about 100 pounds, vet estimated him to be 4-6 years old. Jake is very friendly, great with other dogs, cats, people and ferrets too! He is house-trained and does not require a crate when left alone in the house. It is believed that Jake may have previously been a farm dog, as it has taken him a while to adjust to ‘city’ life, but he’s come around quickly and is getting comfortable with his surroundings. Jake does have a tendency to attempt to bolt out of the front door when it’s opened. He would need a fenced in back yard and caution must be taken when going in/out of a door that does not lead to a fenced area.

This good Samaritan needs to find placement for Jake as soon as possible. If your rescue can help Jake, please email Sarah at sarahthewayhome@gmail.com. TWHRA is willing to provide some transport assistance. Please feel free to share and crosspost. No internet classifieds or craigslist please.

Thank you!

Patty Wrote: On Sept 11 “Abandoned Orange Cat, likely surviving alone since Storm Sandy...
So Rosanne M. and I got back on the Fire Island ferry today and rescued a sick cat we saw while we were there on Monday. This cat is so sick but he is now at my vet's for the night, getting fluids, pain meds, antibiotics, and tomorrow will begin steroids. A full blood workup is being done. He was such a good boy on the ride back to the main island! Not a peep! We are raising funds for his vet bill. He may have scabies or just a very severe flea infection; he is thin; he also needs dental work. His jaw was so swollen that we thought he might have been kicked in the face. Nope, but he does have severely infected teeth. My vet said he has likely been in a LOT of pain. This cat is so trusting, so affectionate.” PLEASE HELP US HELP HIM.

*From Linda: SPCA of Tennessee has been working really hard to get the last of the dogs located in Westpoint, TN to safety. We have removed approximately 40 dogs over the last 2 months and Nashville Humane has been awesomely working with us to take in what they have room for. We have come down to the wire and the remaining dogs at this location are going to be put down due to financial hardship and more so lack of supervision for the dogs. I have been offered sponsorship on three of the dogs so far to a rescue if they will accept them into their program or assist in getting these dogs to safety. The sponsorship funds will be directed straight to the rescue that saves these dogs. A few have already been put down and another round is set for this weekend if no commitment from rescue is received or they are not moved out ASAP. She is not able to care for the remaining 30 dogs and barely keeps them fed.

SPCA has reduced the number of dogs from 70 down to about 30 but we are simply unable to take in any more unless it's just for an overnight layover for transport. PLEASE help crosspost if you are unable to help any of these dogs.

I have pictures and short bios on most of the dogs that may help catch some interest. Most dogs have been spay/neutered and all have had their basic vaccinations.
