LUCKY HAS FOUND HIS PERFECT FOREVER HOME.

Wonderful News! (a note from Jeanette) My bald little foster Pit Bull, Lucky, who was horribly neglected & abused has found his perfect Forever Home! Lucky's new Mom, Rebecca, could not be a more perfect fit. Rebecca sadly lost her Pit Bull (a tripod), Teddy, to cancer earlier this month, just one month shy of his 11th birthday.  Rebecca saw Lucky on a rescue website and told me she kept coming back to his sweet face, a face only a mother could love. Lucky now has the life he deserves with lots of love, a very nice home, a shady, back yard, goes for walks, rides in the car and even gets to sleep in bed! He is receiving excellent medical care and continues to get better with each day. His new nickname is 'Little Piggy'. To those of you who were fortunate enough to have met Lucky, and to those of you who assisted in cross-posting and networking to get his story out, I sincerely want to thank you for your time, encouragement and support in helping Lucky to find his new Forever Home with Rebecca.  He is truly a 'Lucky Dog'

NOTE FROM LEA: I am in desperate need of help. My mother passed away last week and left behind 3 dogs and several cats. My building does not allow dogs, and I am not financially able to move to a new apartment right now, so I am taking the cats, but need to find homes for the dogs. A shelter has agreed to take 2 of the dogs back (my mom adopted them from there), but I need to find home for her Lab mix, Loopy. It is breaking my heart because I love these dogs, but I can only do so much. Loopy is staying with my sister for now, but she is not an animal lover, and is rarely home, and really just does not care.  I live 1 1/2 away (in the city), and do not have a car, so I cannot go there  often. 
... I do not think she would last long in a shelter... she is having trouble getting up and down, and has slowed down considerably. I really want her to be able to live out her final years (possibly months) in peace. She lived her entire life with my mother, who was home most of the time, and is not used to being alone. She loves people and other dogs, and is good with cats and kids. She is super sweet, a bit goofy, and loves food and going for walks. She is housebroken, but really needs to be on a schedule to avoid any accidents. She cannot walk up and down too many stairs, so would need a place on the ground floor or with an elevator. She has been so depressed since my mom died. She is about 60lbs (this is just a guesstimate).

YAY!  THESE BABIES WERE RESCUED!  THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR HELPING OUT!  DON'T KNOW DETAILS YET, BUT DID GET A DIRECT ANSWER "SAVED"!
Two female cockers named Gretchen and Hannah, about 6 yrs old, buff in color, in a KILL SHELTER in Morgan County in Jacksonville IL. The owners moved out of the house and left them behind.  The good news is they are nice dogs...show no issues to any other dog or person....seem to be mellow just want to be around folks.... just very sad.

The shelter will give rescuers 1 more day to get them out...but that is it.......the cockers HAVE to either be pulled or 100% commitment by Tuesday, April 12 by closing.

A lady named "Flo" who tries to help dogs and cats at this shelter by taking and posting photos of the animals at this kill shelter can be reached at 217- 589-4269.   The Morgan County Animal Shelter's telephone number in Jacksonville, IL is 217/ 245-4015, and the shelter's person to contact is "Lisa". There is sponsor money and an offer to transport. They just need a foster or rescue shelter as soon as possible.

BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GEORGIA GIRL PUPPY -- RESCUED!!

Puppy found sitting next to dead mother - GEORGIA    BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GEORGIA GIRL PUPPY NEEDS HELP. 

This little girl was found with her 2 brothers on a country road in Alabama. Their mother had been killed by a car and they were just sitting beside her on the side of the road. Some really nice teenagers stopped and picked up the babies but they are unable to keep the puppies. They have found homes for her siblings but need help finding a home for this last little girl. She is super sweet and loves to snuggle.

Owner says: "Because of allergies, we are taking our cat to the SPCA next week if we can't find a home for him elsewhere. He's very sweet and friendly, likes to be outdoors most of the time, and enjoys catching/chasing things. He's been good with our 2yr old (tho mostly avoids her), but doesn't like sharing his space with any animals. He's fixed. He comes with a carrier and other accessories."  RESCUED!!
