Kakoka MO - 3 BEAUTIFUL BLACK LABS - left homeless, owner went to nursing home...

THESE BEAUTIFUL LABS WERE ALL THE FAMILY THAT AN ELDERLY WOMAN HAD LEFT IN THIS WORLD - NOW SHE IS IN A NURSING HOME AND HER HOUSE WILL BE AUCTIONED NEXT WEEK TO PAY HER EXPENSES.  WITHOUT RESCUE HER FAMILY WILL BE PUT DOWN.  PLEASE POST TO ALL YOU MIGHT KNOW SO THAT THIS WOMAN CAN HAVE THE PEACE OF MIND KNOWING THAT HER BABIES ARE SAFE!

These dogs are all in boarding now.  We pleaded with them to give us more time to find placement for them and instead of putting them down, we put them in boarding.  Please help if you can!
If you can help rescue one of these great labs, please contact me at westhancockk9@mchsi.com

URGENT/IMMEDIATE NEED FOR LOVING HOME for 3 Labs
Three GREAT – loving, affectionate, housebroken, spayed/neutered - dogs are in DESPERATE NEED of a new loving-home.  Their 88-year-old, adoring human-Mom requires 24-hour care.  After years of trying to keep her in her own home, with her beloved 4-legged-family-members, she must now remain in a nursing home, to be safe and receive her needed care.   Read her story below...

Danville, VA :: Two senior dogs lost their home when elderly owner taken to a nursing home. Transport available

A heartbreaking and all too common tale of the elderly -- humans and animals. Please help these 2 in any way you can.
*From Anita: These two dogs (out of 3) were left at the Franklin County Pound Tuesday after their owner entered a nursing home.  One dog has been killed.  They are scared and nervous and need help fast.  We have met them and they have nice personalities.  Please share their story and their pictures.  We are in a race for time because theirs is up.  They can be killed at any time. The information that we have on them is limited.  We have been told they are about 10 years old.  Please help us help them live out the rest of their lives somewhere safe.

Imagine that you wake up one morning, and the person you love most in the world hugs your neck, waves a tearful good-bye, gets into a car and disappears down the road.  You worry because something in her voice was different this time, not like when she would drive to the grocery store only to return a couple of hours later with a bag of food for you.
This time, a lot of hours pass, and she doesn’t come back.  Someone you don’t know very well comes to the house to feed you dinner.  They say words you don’t understand the meaning of – nursing home, no other choice.
A day passes, and that same person comes back.  Only this time, he puts you in the back of his car and drives you to a place you’ve never been to before.
He gets you out of the car.  A nice lady walks up and tells him that older dogs don’t have a very good chance of getting adopted here.  You wonder what adopted is.  You hear the man tell the nice lady that his sister went to a nursing home and you belonged to her.  He can’t take care of you.  The nice lady looks sad.
The man gets in the car without you and drives off. Another person you don’t know comes out and leads you to what looks like a cage with a concrete floor.  She puts you inside and closes the door.
There are a lot of dogs here, most of them younger than you.  You’re 10 – 70 in people years.  Some of the dogs are barking.  You hear the anxiousness in their barks, and you start to shake.  You wonder why the person you love went away, and what you did wrong to be left here.

Girard, GA Crossroad will tug at your heart - URGENT $100 sponsor!

Please take a moment to read this plea for help from a rescuer who already has a full plate.  She could not turn her back on Crossroad..let's help her help him during this very stressful time in her life.   They both need us. Someone has already stepped up with a $100 sponsorship.  Please crosspost everywhere!

On Nov. 1st, while taking off some tree limbs we saw this pitiful little boy standing in the middle of a busy Rd.  We stopped the truck and followed him to another cross road and saw him dragging a dead deer killed by hunters and thrown on the side of the rd.

This poor little fellow was dragging a deer over twice his size into the ditch on the side of the rd. and started eating.  I coaxed him to me with a can of little Cesar fillet mignon dog food.  He was terribly emaciated; tick and flea infested and has many scars on his face and body.

I had Sheila, my own dog in the truck with me and he made no attempt to bite her, rather wagged his skinny little tail non stop.  I am presently trying to find homes for some of my rescue dogs because I have had to take my Mother in who is in stage three Alzheimer’s to keep her from going into a nursing home where I know she would not last two weeks.

Florida - Charlie was found in a park waiting for his owners to come back for him.

*From Carolyn: WHO AM I? My name is Charlie and I was found in a park, very malnourished and scared. I waited and waited for my family to come  for me, but sadly they didn’t.  I am being cared for at the Ponte Vedra Animal Hospital – they say I have a very bad case of Heartworms.  I have started my treatment, but PVAH feels like I would recover better and be happier in a foster home, where I will be loved and taught some doggy manners.  You see, I am very playful and I haven’t been taught how to walk on a leash.  I am anxious to learn though, if you will be patient and teach me.  My heartworms are very bad, so I will need to be kept quiet except for leash walks to potty.  I can’t play much or get overheated – that would be very dangerous for me.  Since I haven’t been neutered yet, it might be best for me to be in a home with no other dogs.  I will be neutered when my HW treatment is complete.  I still have two months to go on the treatment.  I like other...

L.A., CA shelter, Please help save beautiful, neglected Jitterbug

*From Andrea:  $200 pledges to save this precious girl's life but there's no time left so please answer her prayers now...!!!  thank you!!  THE KIND OF DOG THAT MAKES YOU SO SAD
YOUTUBE VIDEO: http://youtu.be/Rr6PXWsJORA
WHO IS SHE? Jitterbug (A1244878, 2 years old, a solid 53 pounds) *From Andrea: ... has never known the joy of dancing, of being carefree.  Ignored, probably beaten, she came into the shelter, collar embedded in her neck, with a litter of puppies.  Her impound photo said it all  --  head bowed down, no hope in life.  That was all I saw for quite a while  --  even though I walked by her kennel at the annex.  I never noticed the sweet soul, waiting for someone to pay a drop of attention to her.  She blends in, she's dark and reserved.  She must have looked up at me, sadness covering her, dragging her down. Everyone who meets Jitterbug now comments on her amazing orange brindle coat and her Roman nose.  They find her charming. want to take her out dancing and show her some happiness at last.  Jitterbug has learned to wag her tail and will take on a play bow when you come to visit.  She's devoted to those who reach out to pet her, talk her for a walk.  Jitterbug does fine with her kennel mate and that seems to be true with all other dogs.  Jitterbug is all heart plus a few dance steps that she's waiting to show you.  Please consider adopting / rescuing this girl who is out of time.
WHERE IS SHE? You can meet her at the South L.A. shelter  3612 11th Ave., L.A. 90018
HOW CAN YOU HELP HER?  Call (213) 485-0117 or -0119 and ask for A1244878.

And please let me know if you do save her  --  as others always ask what has happened after pleas are circulated.  With thanks, Andrea   ivegonetothedogs@gmail.com (323) 363-4909

Iowa - Lovable Long Haired Doxie with IVVD

WHO AM I?  My name is Mars and I’ve been told that I am “out of this world” cute and sweet!  I have IVVD and that scared my owner who doesn’t think he can care for me.  I wish he could understand that not being able to use your back legs is not a death sentence and that with a little help, I’ll be just fine.

A wonderful doctor named Dr. Holland is trying to help find me a new home.    It is too late for me to have surgery, so I am doing some crate rest right now, but I am a healthy 4 year old boy and she knows that I would do great in a cart. I’ve been neutered and up to date on all my shots.  A nice lady has offered to give me my own wheelchair and I just can’t wait to bring my “wheels” with me to my new home – I just know we will have a ball!
WHERE AM I? Iowa

HOW CAN YOU HELP?   If you have any questions or want to see me (and maybe take me home!), please contact Chris at 515-344-1242 or email eholland@mchsi.com
Wait till I have my wheels, then I'll race ya!
Please help get the word out by crossposting and sharing Mars far and wide.  He deserves to live the life he loves so much.

She was just left to find food on her own. The shelter picked her up. Her coat is beautiful!!! Jacksonville, FL - A cry for help - young pregnant woman loses job, home.

Desperate for temporary re-homing for her pets as she gets back on her feet after job loss.
THIS IS HER STORY:
My name is Kristina Johnson, I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I just recently found out I was pregnant and lost my job and my fiance’ was laid off. My fiance’ and I had to move into separate places and neither allows animals.

No one in our family or our friends on the "web" sees dogs as we do. I have two amazing dogs that I see as my children. In the middle of August all of this happened. We were initially forced to send our babies to a pound, and it was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. After 10 days of no sleep and many tears we decided we needed to get them out, and good thing because they were both very ill and scared from being in the pound.

Sumerdale AL - Please help save Goliath !! He is in a Shelter not much time!!

Goliath is SAFE! he went to texas cane corso rescue 2 weeks ago. A comment from Tiffany with Baldwin County AC: "When Goliath arrived at his foster home, the foster's Dachshund tried to attack him....Goliath looked at him and walked over to his dog bed and laid down and ignored him! He's been doing wonderful!"  WHO AM I? My name is Goliath. I'm a pretty big guy, but I'm a puppy at heart. I just want to be loved. Do you think you would have room for me? I'll be the best dog you've ever had.
*From Tiffany: This big lug is either a Cane Corso or a Neopolitan Mastiff. He is a blue and cream brindle with a docked tail. He is very good with people and knows basic commands. We do let him run (supervised) with the other dogs and he goes around and marks everything, but then comes right back to us. If we are currently petting another dog, he butts in between to get all the attention. Goliath is 91#, but is skinny for his frame, so he will eventually weigh more. He was covered with fleas and ticks when he arrived...by police car. LOL If you are interested in adopting or rescuing Goliath, please let me know. Thanks
