Florida - Charlie was found in a park waiting for his owners to come back for him.

*From Carolyn: WHO AM I? My name is Charlie and I was found in a park, very malnourished and scared. I waited and waited for my family to come  for me, but sadly they didn’t.  I am being cared for at the Ponte Vedra Animal Hospital – they say I have a very bad case of Heartworms.  I have started my treatment, but PVAH feels like I would recover better and be happier in a foster home, where I will be loved and taught some doggy manners.  You see, I am very playful and I haven’t been taught how to walk on a leash.  I am anxious to learn though, if you will be patient and teach me.  My heartworms are very bad, so I will need to be kept quiet except for leash walks to potty.  I can’t play much or get overheated – that would be very dangerous for me.  Since I haven’t been neutered yet, it might be best for me to be in a home with no other dogs.  I will be neutered when my HW treatment is complete.  I still have two months to go on the treatment.  I like other...
dogs, but could use some help on socializing with smaller dogs and small children – only because I am big and playful.
Everyone at PVAH says I am a really sweet boy. I love to be petted.  I am housebroken and know how to sit on command.  I will give you my paw if you will scratch under my arm.  I really, really, really want to be part of a family.   Please help me!  I need a foster or someone to adopt me.  I come with a complete care package – bed, toys, food, collar, leash and my sponsor will event pay for a trainer to come to your house and work with me, so I can be the best companion possible.

*From Glenys: This is another Charlie in need of our help.  He is a mix who is at Ponte Vedra Animal Hospital undergoing Heartworm treatment.  He is very highly positive and needs someone who will give him love and take care of him and do exactly what the doctor says.  He is a very sweet guy, but big and strong.  He has not yet been neutered and can’t be until he get through the HW treatment.  Please pass this on to everyone you know and let’s see if we can get this guy into either a loving foster home or a forever home while he goes through the rest of his treatment. He is becoming depressed and not eating good – he needs to be in a home!  A meet and greet can be arranged at PVAH.  Please help Charlie!!!!
