Kingspark, Long Island: Beauty in the Snow finally trapped, Now Needs Vetting Funds

FUNDS NEEDED for VETTING!!! NEED for BEAUTY's VETTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FEB 18, 2014: Long Island, NY
*From Trudy: Kitty Named “BEAUTY” has been trapped and is currently at a vet who we are NOT at all happy with…we will be transporting her tomorrow to another vet who knows what they are doing…right now we are awaiting tests to determine if she OR he…the vet is NOT even sure, is felv/fiv negative or positive. We do not know if this is an abscess or a tumor…although it did grow very quickly according to the FEEDER/CARETAKER.

I need to get pledges for vetting…a very savvy cat person , who trapped BEAUTY, will be taking over once we get this cat OUT of the current vet…
tssh1@optonline.net

Let me know if you can donate and how much…I must calculate what we will have for this precious kitty. THANK YOU!!

Feral cats abandoned in Burlington NC URGENT

Urgent situation, 8 to 9 Feral Cats in danger.

https://www.facebook.com/FeralsFreedom
*From Annie: Good evening,

I write this with a heavy heart as 8 to 9 feral cats are in danger of going to the shelter. Their caretakers home was foreclosed on - the bank now owns the property. I am unsure how long they have until animal control is called as the property has been abandoned since the middle of January.

I go every 2 days to feed and water them. They have a fence they can get in and out of, a plastic dog house with a tarp over it - I put straw in it before it snowed.

There were 15 in all but I moved 6 to my backyard in hopes that they will learn this is their new home. I am unable to move them all. I can not have 14 to 15 cats, as we live by a highway, have dogs that are not cat friendly and my neighbors would have a fit.

The cats are a result of neighbors not spaying/neutering. We knew the people that lived on the property - They were dog people but fed cats that were starved. Of course the cats set up shop in their backyard. When we visited them last year they were inundated with kittens and had approximately 27. Some were killed when a neighbors 2 dogs got loose.

I took it upon myself to have as many females as we could catch, spay. This was done through Sheets pet clinic and FCAP - both in Greensboro.

As of now there are 4 females on the property that have been spay. I was told there may be 2 to 3 more females. Only 2 or 3 of the cats are friendly enough to let me pet them while they are eating. I tried to catch one - I had her but she went berserk and got loose. Needless to say she avoids me. lol

Alamance county does not have a TNR program through the shelter or the humane society. All ferals are killed when they hit the shelter.

There are some beautiful cats - including a black/ white long hair, a fluffy grey tabby, a black/grey tabby, a solid black, the majority are grey/white - there is also an older tom. The orange one in the picture is a neighbors cat.

I realize these are wild cats. But I also know, after working with the 6 here, that they can be tamed with time.

I'm praying I can find somewhere they can go, where they will be safe to live out their lives. If you can help in any way - Please let me know.

Regards,
Annie

Daleville, AL: CRISIS - Noah the trash eating abandoned pittie needs boarding funds immediately, foster home did not work out!!!

Noah has nowhere to go, please help us raise the funds needed to board him or find a new foster home.

*From Melissa: Hi everyone.

We got a call last night about 9:30 pm that Noah, the little mange pittie from Opp, Alabama that I went and got off the street, has to be picked up from his foster home by tonight. If we cannot raise the boarding funds by tonight he will have nowhere to go.
He was doing fantastic with all the dogs there for several days, but yesterday was left outside with the foster's female pittie while she was away from the house for awhile...
When she got back home, he and Eva had been in a fight and both had a few minor cuts and he was limping a little bit on one foot. Because of this Noah can no longer stay there to foster and we are in panic mode about finding him somewhere safe by tonight.

My only options are vet boarding, which is 17.00 a day and I really hope we don't have to do, or boarding at the local rescue in Daleville, and she will only charge us 12.00 a day but would need us to pay in full for the two weeks I have asked her to give me to try to find another foster, then we could re-evaluate if he needs to stay longer if I have not found a foster. The total for the two week period would be 168.00. IF we can raise more than that, they will keep him as long as the funds are there and we will not have to stress so much about a foster, as they are almost nonexistent in my area.

If anyone can donate, you can donate three ways:

1. to the rescue's paypal address at allbreedsrescueadoption@gmail.com-- however, they have a monthly withdrawal limit.

2. I have offered to let donors use my paypal which is melissa.moore@troycable.net - I can take your donation in, in your name, to them. Receipt proof can be given from the rescue to assure that your donation was taken in, if you choose to use my paypal so they can get the money sooner. If you donate through my paypal, PLEASE indicate in the note box that it is for Noah as we have several strays we are trying to raise funds for vet bills for right now and I want to be sure it is applied to the right dog.

3. Noah's youcaring fund at http://www.youcaring.com/pet-expenses/noah-needs-boarding-funds-immediately-to-stay-safe-/138068

I am hoping his injuries are better today and that he was just sore on that foot, but if not I will need to get him back to the vet for a check and regardless I have to go get him from her tonight because he has to go.

I know many of you were very concerned about Noah when he was found on the street eating trash..... maybe his friends who helped before can help again and/or share widely for him!

The good news is his fur is coming back great after all the dips he had and he looks like a different dog! He is SUPER sweet and playful and until this incident he got along great with every single dog and cat he has been around - I don't know if there was maybe food involved or what, but unfortunately Noah can't stay there any longer.

This was Noah's initial information when he was found eating trash on the street in Opp, AL.

Poor Noah has suffered on the streets his whole young life and his hair is almost gone but ALL OF HIS SKIN SCRAPES HAVE SHOWN UP NEGATIVE FOR DEMODEX OR SARCOPTIC MANGE. Maybe he has a bad skin allergy? He is in very temporary foster and sweet little boy, and so will need somewhere quickly once we determine what his mange is. NOAH IS SUPER SWEET, YOUNG, GREAT WITH DOGS/CACTS/KIDS, AND HEARTWORM NEGATIVE!

PLEASE CROSSPOST URGENTLY FOR PLACEMENT FOR THESE GREAT DOGS!!!!! PHYSICALLY THEY LOOK SO MUCH BETTER BUT ARE NOT DOING WELL EMOTIONALLY IN BOARDING. :(

Pembroke Pines, FL - EX-URGENT!!!! - 6 yr. old SHEPHERD/ LAB GIRL WILL BE THROWN TO THE STREETS, IF NO ONE RESCUES HER!!

Given up once due to sad circumstances, Shirley was happily reunited with her owner only to be given up again because of the owner's heartless new wife.

PLEASE SHARE URGENTLY FOR A FOSTER, ADOPTER OR RESCUE!
TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!!

*From Maria: This is Shirley, a sweet 6 yr. old Lab Shepherd mix, who needs a new loving home. Shirley is a very good girl. She is sweet, friendly, playful, and gets along with everyone. Shirley had an owner that loved her very much, but one day her owner lost everything, and he had to give Shirley away because he could not take care of her or provide for her anymore.

He found what he thought was a good newhome for her, but somehow after a couple years she ended up at a high kill shelter. The shelter contacted him, and he went and got her, but when he arrived home with the dog, his new wife gave him an ultimatum to either get rid of the dog, or leave the house, because she did not like dogs in the house. So, once again Shirley is in need of a home. She has done nothing wrong.

This poor girl has been the victim of irresponsible humans, and she is paying the consequences OF BEING UNWANTED FOR NO GOOD REASON. She was so happy when she saw her former owner again, and went home with him, but now her little heart will be broken again.

The wife wants Shirley to disappear immediately, so we are desperately looking for a good loving home that will care for this girl like she deserves for the rest of her days. Would you be the one to open your heart and your home to Shirley?

If you want more information, or to meet Shirley, please contact Maria at: 561-289-2009.

Shirley is fully vetted, spayed, and ready for her new home. She is located in Pembroke Pines. Application, references and a small re-homing fee will apply.

Weston, FL: URGENT!!! Blitz has no place to go - Owner to euthanize

Emergency!! - Owner is going to euthanize because she has nowhere to put him! - Blitz, 90 lb Shepherd/Rottie/Lab mix losing his home!! - Good with dogs and cats, and loves children! - WESTON FL

The owner just told me that she has absolutely no place to keep Blitz , she has had him in a vet office boarding for 6 months trying to find him a home.  She has called every rescue in South Florida, and beyond.  She does not want him in a shelter, so she feels she has no option but to put him to sleep.

Is there anyone out there, any rescue who takes big dogs that can save this boy?

This is such a sad situation for Blitz.  He was rescued as a 5 week puppy by a family.  They lost their home, and had to move into an apt., and their family members had been taking turns watching him because the apt doesn't allow dogs.

The family member can no longer hold on to him, as she was in an accident and can't hold on to Blitz anymore and poor Blitz is living in a crate at vet office but he can't stay there any longer.

About Blitz written by the owner:

He is 3 1/2 years old, and neutered. He is 90 lbs., and house-broken, and doesn't have any bad habits such as chewing or digging.  He will, however, bark when the door rings, like most dogs.

He's great with babies and children.  He always played with children in previous neighborhoods, and has been amazing with my son since he was born October 2012.  He's careful and respectful of his space.

Blitz has made friends with dogs of all sizes, however, he doesn't seem to like unneutered males.  If they are neutered, or female, there is no problem.  Blitz throughout the years has lived with cats also and gets along with them.

NYC: 2 beloved family dogs need immediate temporary foster

Don't let these two precious faces end up at the NYC kill shelter.
Cross post as urgent.
Temporary foster needed for 2 smallbreeds whose Mother/Daughter are on SSI disability and whose rooming house was just vacated for code violations.
From the desperate owners now in a shelter that does not allow dogs:

Hello, my name is Lori Moser and my daughter's name is Chelsea Moser. I have been on SSI disability since last April and my daughter just got on SSI disability this month.
We have both been disabled by genetically related conditions for a very long time, but just went on disability because of my divorce. We have two dogs, a maltese names Emmy and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Suzette. Emmy's nickname is Kins and Suzette's is Zoodle.
We were waiting as patiently as possible for both of us to be accepted for SSI so we could move to more comfortable accommodations and were just going to start doing so when the fire department showed up at our rooming house andvacated the entire housedown for code violations. We had about two hours to vacate the building. The Red Cross came and put us up in a hotel for two nights and then the HRA transferred us all to a homeless shelter.
Fortunately, we have friends who stepped in right away to take the animals until we can find permanent housing.

Their situation does not allow this to be a long term foster home for the dogs, however.

Being disabled, our dogs are our constant companions and honored and beloved members of our family. Though our situation is currently a bit grim, our greatest concern is for our dogs, as we could not bare to loose them.
Suzette is elderly for a Cavlier at 11 years old. Suzette is 11 years old. Here she is modeling her makeshift winter booties. She has some hearing and vision loss but is not blind or deaf. The hearing loss is due to old age, she also has cataracts and recently her eyes have gotten worse. She had to have some of her teeth pulled a few years back, but she does fine with small kibble and loves just about any kind of people food. She is used to getting "last bites",when we eat, as is Emmy. We were waiting for Chelsea to get on SSI so we could take her to get them looked at by a vet and were evacuated before we had time to. She is very mellow and well mannered. She is very submissive to other animals and can be easily bullied. She is good around other dogs, cats, children....anyone two or four legged.

Emmy is about 7 years old.
Emmy is about 7 years old. She is also very good around all folks, two or four legged. She is a little more nervous than Suzette is, and but she settles in. She loves to snuggle and will pretty much snuggle you as much as you will let her. She likes to sleep next to you if she can. She is very thin and at first this might alarm you and we are always a little concerned, but she has been that way all of her life. She has always had unlimited access to dog food and gets table scraps as well. She just doesn't eat much. She has had her blood work done a few times because of her weight, but everything has always been fine. She has very small teeth (which need to be cleaned, and have also been waiting on SSI $) so she too needs kibble with small chunks. She is a very good girl and will not give anyone any trouble. She will just be nervous at first until she has time to adjust. She is VERY bonded to Chelsea and I and this has to be very difficult for her.

Neither dog is spayed. We bought them from very good breeders and we thought we may breed them once each for friends and relatives to have the pups, but life had other plans and neither of them has ever had puppies. We used to live in a big house with a big back yard on the West Coast, so they were not around other dogs much and it didn't cause any problems.

It would be ideal if the two dogs could stay together, but if that is not possible, we will be grateful for whatever situation allows them to be safely returned to us when we are able to get permanent housing again. We will be eternally grateful to anyone who fosters our babies. Oh, and they are both trained to go piddle on piddle pads, but they also go potty outside. Because of our disabilities Chelsea and I are homebound much of the time and our dogs are everything to us. They are truly our family.
BAFN will deliver these
dogs to you and pay for food.

Please someone take this baby ! She is spayed, clean, utd on vaccinations. Just needs a home!!

*From K: Please save Nina. She lived together with her owner under a bridge, homeless but never separated. He is now in the hospital dying with his last wish and prayer is that Nina go to a loving home and not a shelter or worse. Please try to imagine what she is going through, no longer with her loyal companion any longer. We are begging someone out there to save her and give her a forever home where she will be able to go on without her best friend. Transport can always be done-tell everyone.

This precious, intelligent girl doesn't need to go from one place to another place, here and there. She needs a steady forever home with someone who will be her loving companion. and who will let her sleep on the bed at night or next to it in her own comfortable bed. She needs someone who will be there for her, and just her. I know there are people out there with loving and compassionate hearts who are solid and 100% forever loyal. That is what this girl needs, and she needs it now. I know you see what I see, and our heart will be breaking for this girl until she gets the loving and comforting home that she needs and deserves.
Where is she now?

SPRINGFIELD MO - MISSING PITBULL, (FROM VILLALOBOS RESCUE) TV show

ANA IS STILL MISSING
So many of you followed her story, worried with us, cried with us, and sadly are still wondering with us. For those that don't know, Ana was one of the "UPS puppies" that was featured on our premiere episode this seas...on. She was adopted to a young man who was battling cancer. Sadly this past September, he and his wife split up and she took Ana with her. Though we don't know the specific details, this is what we do know. The wife fell onto hard times and bounced around from place to place and Ana was passed around to some of her friends to take care of. The husband relocated out of state for health reasons. Yes, it clearly states in our adoption contract that if you cannot take care of our dog, we will take him/her back no questions asked! At this point we don't know the what's, the why's or the where's but at some point, Ana "got away" from the wife and she did not tell us at the time of the incident. We had to hear it from family members and friends of their's. We thought we had a lead on her whereabouts but after numerous phone calls, looking at photos and doing our "investigating", we came up with nothing. At this point, we might be chasing an empty trail but we have to at least try. This all took place in late Sept/early Oct in the Springfield, MO area. If you found or have in your possession a dog that looks like Ana (unfortunately this puppy pic is all we have), please have her scanned as ALL of our dogs are microchipped to us. We have appealed to the news to let us do a story (no response), offered a HUGE reward.....so now we appeal to you. Please help us BRING ANA HOME.

Long Island, NY JAN 22 - STILL TRYING for Daisy - thrown out in the trash

Abused Kitty was found Inside a Plastic Garbage Bag IN A DUMPSTER!! Please help find her a home.

Long Island, NY
JAN 22 - STILL TRYING for Daisy
JAN 21 - Despite Her Horrific Ordeal, Daisy is a VERY, VERY SWEET Girl...
JAN 16 - NOT ONE OFFER!! NOT ENOUGH SHARES!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!
JAN 15 - Cat Thrown into DUMPSTER NEEDS a HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Original plea***Daisy*** Found in The Garbage DUMPSTER in a Plastic Bag
“The maintenance staff where Linda lives saw a man or couple putting Daisy in a black garbage bag, tying it and putting her in the dumpster. It turned out it was a cat that was being fed by an older couple and NO ONE is quite sure WHO put the cat in the dumpster…OR they aren’t telling!!! Maintenance took her OUT and a wonderful woman offered to foster her…unfortunately DAISY was badly bullied in that foster and HAD to be placed elsewhere…

She Likes to be petted on the head but then she will swat. Daisy does NOT like her back touched. Likely trust issues. She WAS abused! She does not like to be held or handled. She is quiet, not destructive, not aggressive. Eats well, good litter box manners. She likes to wander around the condo where she is but then will run back into her bedroom and jump on the bed. Loves looking out the window. My take is that she needs a quiet home....other cats are possible IF they are mellow, old, not alpha cats. Someone cat savvy with some experience who is not looking for a lap/mush cat right away and is willing to give a truly deserving kitty and unconditional HOME.”

Finding DAISY a GOOD HOME is URGENT NOW…
She is five years old. Healthy and just had a dental.

14 Freezing Homeless Cats... woman evicted and forced to place cats outside in straw tents... help is desperately needed!
DEC 5 *From Saundra: Hi all: This is a colony of tame cats in Charlotte that are sweet and beautiful. I have been working to keep them fed in wet food since the lady in a 2 bedroom apartment got evicted and put them in straw tents behind the apartment and the cats keep trying to go back into to. The apartments are not Cat friendly and a picking them off, if you know what I mean. Many of them are long-haired and adoptable. I have been s/ning them as I can.......approx. 20 cats.
If any rescue want to adopt out the tame ones, great! There are a few older ones that might need to be euthanized? they are living on a small strip of land behind the apartment backed up to a parking lot where I am feeding them.
Below is just half of them.  -- Saundra

DEC 6 *From Melba: You are probably aware of the situation in South Charlotte where a lady was evicted, along with her 20 cats. Many of them are spay/neutered and current on shots. Many are beautiful, tame and long haired. There are numerous 3 month old kittens. They are living outside with some straw huts the lady erected. I'm trying to find out more. These kitties are cold, wet and suffering out there. My heart is heavy as I am only one person. I'm very overloaded and have had 3 horrible emergencies this weekend that have literally consumed every moment. I have not been off the computer except to sleep and that I was unable to do because of worry. I know I cannot save every cat. But, I try to do whatever I can.

I'm trying to decide whether to withdraw on this situation immediately, while I still can. OR, if you ladies will commit to the project of finding rescues/homes for them along with me. I cannot do this alone. I have a couple foster homes that will take cats. I have another lady who runs a petsitting business and has a doggie day care that has offered a bedroom in her home. If I take any cats into a foster, I will be stuck having to do all the work for vetting and finding homes. This would be no small task. As of right now, I have places where possibly 8 cats could go! BUT, I CANNOT DO IT ALONE. So, I'm asking if you are willing and can dedicate time to being a team on this project. Each person take a couple cats, focus on getting whatever they need and adopted out. I have sponsors and can raise more money if necessary, which I am good at. Money is not the issue.

Please take some time to consider this request. Honestly, if you do not wish to participate, there are no hard feelings. This is so disturbing as are many other situations in our community and state. It takes a village. Here are a couple photos of kitties in need. Thanks for your consideration .

Please contact Saundra --- Saundrahsnyder@aol.com
Or Melba ---- melbatarlton@yahoo.com
or Melissa ----- melissa4493@hotmail.com

Please cross post to folks who will help.
UPDATE: MELBA SAID SHE DID FIND SOMEONE TO HELP GET THE SMALL DOGHOUSES FOR TONIGHT. SO GOOD ON THAT NOW.

ALSO PER BELOW HAVE ABOUT 6 CATS WITH OFFERS. THAT LEAVES 14 MORE CATS NEEDING HELP!

Hampton Roads, VA-URGENT! FIVE CATS IN DIRE NEED OF REHOMING!

Five Cats need a home now.... deadline Jan 15 or they will be sadly taken to shelter *From Laura: Hi everyone! I don't send a lot of emails like this, but right now my partner's family is in an urgent state of need. My stepdad-in-law has been diagnosed with terminal cancer in his lungs and brain, where there are already over 30 tumors. He's fighting day to day to maintain his quality of life. He and my mother-in-law are struggling financially, as she's disabled and neither of them can work.

There are currently 7 cats and a dog living in their small home, and because of both of their health, five of the cats must find new homes. This must occur by January 15, and unfortunately, those who have not found homes will be going to a shelter, where I believe it is unlikely for them to make it out alive. They are special cats with very special personalities, but will probably be looked right over at the shelter.

I am attaching the sad story of two of these cats, Emmy (black and white) and Runner (black), who ended up with my in-laws after their original guardian, a family friend, committed suicide. These I feel are the 2 most adoptable cats because of their sweet demeanors. Right now, a kind rescue group to take them in would be a wonderful solution for these babies!

The other kitties are as follows (photos attached):
-Murray - a black and white kitty who is very independent and a free thinker. He's not especially social with other cats but can live with them if necessary and will just do his own thing!  He can be a huge sweetheart when he wants to be. Prefers to be indoor/outdoor cat.
-Baby - a small tabby who is very docile and shy. She is scared of new people, but is so sweet when the right person takes the time to get to know her. Probably the sweetest little girl I've ever met. Indoor cat.
-Harley - black and white kitty, not good with other cats. He has a mind of his own and just wants someone to be "his person." He's mostly laid back and low maintenance. Indoor cat.

These cats will all be fixed, vaccinated, and had a basic exam before being sent on their way!

Even if you cannot take these kitties, PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR CONTACTS. Maybe we can find a few rescue groups to take them. These cats are located in Hampton Roads, Virginia, but I am willing to drive as far as it takes to get them to where they need to be (I love road trips!!!). Thank you all SO MUCH for any help in spreading the word.

INTERESTED ADOPTERS/GROUPS, please contact Laura Cascada at lauralee.wilson@live.com.

P.S. I've set up a donation page for my in-laws as well, and if you'd like to make a small donation, please indicate that it's for the kitties - I'll use it directly for their vet expenses. TO DONATE PLEASE CLICK HERE:http://www.gofundme.com/5v5rv4

THANK YOU AGAIN FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!

Advance, NC - elderly couple had to give up their senior kitties... please help

This is heart breaking. PLEASE CROSS POST Three beautiful, senior cats in need of fur-ever home(s) or rescue. Located in Advance, NC close to Winston-Salem. Contact is: Gerri at Village Way Kennel (336) 998-0263 or by cell at: (336) 671-8117.

There is no other family to help. Wife paid for boarding for one month when she went into the hospital. Sadly, she is going from the hospital to hospice. Because the husband is unable to physically care for the cats he came to the vets office to sign euthanasia papers.

Thankfully, the vet and staff were so touched by this gentleman, the story and the cats that they agreed to hold off with hope home(s), or rescue(s) can be found, but they can’t keep them much longer. Rebecca and Joseph have been there the longest and Noel, the last was recently brought in. They have adjusted well to being in a kennel, but it’s no life to live, especially for very long and the vets office just can’t keep them much longer. They need the kennel space for sick patients and boarders too. So, sadly if homes or foster/rescue(s) aren’t soon found they will be euthanized.

Adopted as kittens, these kids are spay/neutered and current on vaccines. Indoor only. They got along well with the couples dog and grandchildren. Super sweet and loving.

Rebecca 10 yrs and 8 months old
Joseph 10 yrs and 8 months old
Noel 8 yrs and 11 months old

PLEASE, can anyone help any of these beautiful, well loved and cared for cats?  They do not have to stay together. We are all saying our prayers for the cats and the couple.

*Orlando, FL: Savannah on her own walking 100 miles - Urgent!!!

12-16-13 Savannah is safe with her owner who had been looking for her!

This is Savannah and hers is quite a story - she needs help NOW!

Orlando, FL - Dog walked 100 miles alone, owner in jail, she needs foster/home/rescue now!! - Savannah, senior Shep mix!!

Please contact Chucky ASAP at: 407-739-2003!!  This poor girl needs a HOME to love her-=- she's precious just wants some TLC and love, that's IT!  If not a home, pls a rescue step up to help her ASAP!!!

She was found in my front yard on Black Friday. I took her to my vet and they found she was micro-chipped… Unfortunately, her owner never registered info on the micro-chip.  I was able to get the manufacturers number from the chip, and learned it was installed at The Marion County Animal Shelter (Ocala) in 2002.  I also was able to get her owners name and address.  I did a small background report, trying to find a working phone number for her owner, but had no luck.  I was able to get in touch with her owners’ parents, who are in their 90s.  Sadly, they haven’t heard from their daughter in years, and said they have no idea of how to find her.  I then had my mother help me out; she works for the City, and was able to pull a full background report… That is when we discovered that Savannah’s owner has been in jail since late October.  Based on the timeline and geographic scenario, this 11 year old girl has been surviving on her own for over a month, and has walked close to 100 miles.

I am an animal lover, and would love to be able to keep this sweet girl, but my family and I are not in a financial position to keep her at this time.  I also believe that our home is a little too chaotic for her; between my other 2 dogs (weighing in at 150 lbs combined), and my rambunctious 2 year old… I just don’t think she can get comfortable, or that she is getting the one on one love and attention that she deserves.

I have called 15+ rescues, and all have explained to me that they are either full, or that they only accept dogs off of death row.   I have also called no-kill shelters in Orange, Seminole, Brevard, Lake, and Marion counties to see if I can drop her off there.  I have been told that they do not accept strays, and can only take her if I claim her as a pet.  Claiming her as a pet would mean that I am claiming ownership of her for the past 90 days, and therefore taking responsibility for her current condition.  Since her current condition is less than fair (due to her extreme weigh loss), I could be fined and charge with animal neglect and have my other 2 dogs taken away. All the shelters I have call have suggested forfeiting her to animal control.  I really do not want to send her to animal control because their policy is to euthanize after 5 days.
Additionally, I have called them and been informed that they have shortened their holding period to 3 days before euthanizing them, due to the large amount of animals they receive throughout the holiday months.

My goal in all of this is to find Savannah a loving and stable home.  I feel she would be best suited with either a person who is single, an old couple, or possibly someone with a disability.  She is very low maintenance, and prefers to be in a low-stress environment.

Here is some additional info about her:

• Female, Spayed
•
11 years old• Tall/thin – about 60 lbs
• Micro-chipped (can be registered under your name)
• No fleas
• House Broken
• Does not chew
• Does not get in the garbage
• Non-Food Aggressive
• Ok with other dogs & older children
• Ok with cats (at least the one who was roaming around my vets office when I took her there)
• Low activity required – Just lots of love and petting

Thanks so much for all of your help and prayers for a forever home for Savannah.

Charlotte, NC: URGENT! "Macy" - Found In Survival Mode Living Under a Bridge

Importance: High
A picture speaks a thousand words....
Please share this story with anyone you know looking for an adorable little girl who has had a tough life.

"This girl has come a long way in her adjustment back into a loving home environment.

HOWEVER, when we first rescued "Macy"  in September... I absolutely had no room for her and nowhere for her to go....

I called my friend after pulling her from under the bridge, in the dark of night, and asked if she could take her for what we thought was only a couple of weeks....

My friend, graciously agreed to take her in for a couple of weeks (she really did not have room for her either)...well that was back in September.   She has been working with "Macy" and has done a fantastic job....BUT, my 2 week agreement is LONG PAST!  The situation has become URGENT....I have got to find a place for "Macy" to go! She can no longer stay with her present foster mom.

"Macy" will be an excellent companion / pet for a good loving home.  She has absolutely no aggression to her what-so-ever.  She is a little stand-offish when meeting new things, people, other dogs, etc, But, she comes around very nicely once she sees that she is not in danger.  She runs and plays with the other dogs and loves to see Mom and Dad coming home from work.   She is UTD on shots, spayed, micro-chipped....ALL done at personal expense of my friend, her present foster mom.

Can anyone take this girl into their Foster / Adoption Program?  OR Give her a "Forever" Home?

I am desperate to find a place for this great little girl..... PLEASE HELP! "

Booneville, NC Blue Heeler/Beagle being surrendered. Family moving north without him.

A VICTIM OF A FAMILY MOVING ON WITHOUT HIM. IT'S JUST NOT FAIR.
Rascal is a YOUNG 6 yr old adult, male dog that is thought to be a Blue Heeler/Beagle mix. (He plays and acts like a puppy. He has a lot of love and life to give). Contact information below.

They have sold their home and are moving North and cannot keep him. I have met him. He is a very sweet dog. He is house trained, crate trained and adheres to a underground fence. He does fine with other dogs and is ok with cats. He is good with kids and loves women. He likes men too but has given on occasional delivery guy a hard time.

He is neutered and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. He is on 4health dog food and seems pretty healthy from what I have seen.

Would you know of anyone that could give this guy a home? The owner wants nothing more than to give him a forever home. But he needs to be moved pretty quickly. I am going to post to others so please let me know asap if you are interested.

Thanks. Sherry Azelton

*From Joan: Jasper needs a home. He is in north Atlanta but can be transported.
Rescue friends, can you please help me? Meet Sweet Jasper. He was pulled from a high kill shelter in the south and saved just in time. He is a 2 year old Pointer Lab Mix male and is absolutely gorgeous! He is totally vetted, heartworm negative and neutered. Very sweet. Good with adults and kids and loves to run and play. Not sure about cats as the kennel does not have any. He is good with puppies and older dogs. Takes a minute with males but he's really very sweet. He is in a kennel in boarding and is going downhill being there. He really needs a home where he can bond and run and play. We are willing to transport him to another rescue if necessary. But he really needs foster or adopter or rescue to help him get on his way to a real life! He so deserves it. Please share and give him a home for the holidays. Thank you
Contact Joan Locher with Paws & Stars Animal Rescue for more information. Put Jasper in the title. Thank you!
