Here is the latest CARTER NEWS…The owner WILL SURRENDER him…he has been seen by two surgeons to assess his old (car accident) leg injury. Although we would have loved to SAVE his leg, it is NOT practical NOR feasible!!! AND the chances of this intricate surgery actually working are SLIM. We cannot put this delightful, loving and trusting dog through that kind of surgery. So TRUSTING Carter is about to lose his home AND his leg. We can’t let him down now and we won’t! We know the right home is out there!
They vet who will be doing the actual surgery is still to be decided. We trust and truly believe that
CARTER will be able to adapt beautifully soon after the amputation is completed. We would HOPE & PRAY that he can go to his NEW HOME after his surgery!
The owner has been cooperative in bringing him to two vet appts but now her husband wants him OUT!!
His surgery will be paid for by a few VERY generous donators. We are still waiting for the final estimate for his surgery!
Because a couple of weeks have passed since the original posting, we are reposting to find a fabulous HOME for Carter…one that he can recoup in right after his surgery. That would be the fairest to this beautiful, loving dog. IF we can only get a foster to begin with, we will have to go that route.
Both vets raved about Carter, stating that he has an incredible nature…and he does! Let’s get CARTER a HOME! Great with other dogs, kids and probably cats! He’s just a great doggie with a huge heart!
