*Miami, FL: Please help me save my dog!

4-28-12  Sad Update:  "What was supposed to be a normal follow up appointment to remove his stitches, remove his cast and apply new cast went horribly wrong. From what we were told is that he was applied anesthesia to sedate him for only 30 seconds in order to remove his cast and stitches. But he did not wake up.......the doctor applied oxygen and tried to resuscitate him but he was gone. "  Run with the wind, sweet Bailey.

Times are hard enough, but when your heart and soul pet needs help and you don't have the money, it is heartbreaking. If you can't donate, please share this information far and wide.

UPDATE:  MRI confirms surgery necessary - please continue to  crosspost and donate.

Bailey was able to get his MRI done on Friday, April 6th thanks to the donations and prayers from each and everyone one of you as well as family and friends. We are eternally grateful to each and everyone that has donated or sent a prayer and wish to see our little guy Bailey get well soon.

The MRI indicates that Bailey's condition is know as Atlantoaxial Luxation. This occurs when there is instability between the first and second cervical vertebrae (bones of the neck). These two bones normally firmly attached to each other with a series of ligaments. Clinical signs may include neck pain, abnormal head carriage, weakness in all four legs, or inability to use the legs. Surgery offers the greatest chance of long-term resolution of signs.
Please help us save us our dog Bailey. Bailey is a Yorki 3 1/2 years old who suffered an injury to his spinal-cord this weekend. We have been in contact with a veterinary neurologist who says he can help, but treatment can range from $5,000 or more. We do not have the money. So I appeal to all animal rescue organizations to seek help and the only answer I have is "put him to sleep."

I refuse to do that, he is our soul. He can be treated and can be fine he can be saved, but we have no money to help him. I'm trying to do everything I can to help and I'm just asking for some help. Please help us find help for Bailey. Chip In for Bailey If anyone  would like to help and wants to confirm Bailey's case, you can call Dr. Michael Wong's Office.  Also you can call Banfield Pet Hospital; they are helping us also. Ask for Dr. Davila Margarita

God Bless You for your prayers and help. Please post on your Facebook wall.
