*Tarboro, NC: Update: Mama and her two babies just left for the Big Apple!

Mother's Day Update:  How appropriate that a rescue from New York has stepped up for Shelby and her babies. Shelby got the best Mother's Day present ever.  They all left for the big city yesterday and the rescue is confident that they will find wonderful new homes for them.

No love as great as a mother's -- Shelby and her 2 pups were found in an abandoned house!!!
*From Julie: This is Shelby and her 2 week old pups at Edgecombe. She was in a abandoned house. She was so scared and aggressive when they went to get her, they came in the house with SHOT GUNS!!!! She was just terrified!!! She is now comfortable with people. She will NOT poop or pee in her kennel but will hold it until they take her outside!!! The is the BEST mommy and the best dog!!!! She walks well on a leash, gets along with other dogs and loves to be petted. She has been at the shelter over a week and needs out!!! Please share her so she goes to a safe haven!!!

*8-9-12:  GOOD NEWS!!!  The kind uncle who took him in fell in love with this little guy and has made him a permanent part of his family!

Please help us find this little boy a good home. He was sprayed with Raid to get rid of fleas!!!!!!
He's so small, won't take up much room, he just wants a family and a home to call his own.  He's temporarily being kept in a garage, but they can't keep him. Please crosspost, share to help him find a good home.

*From Neala: This is a little sweet boy dog my uncle found. Someone was spraying Raid on him to get rid of fleas. Then someone else bathed him and now he is in my uncle's garage. Not neutered. Very sweet. Has a slight limp. Found in San Antonio, Texas. Contact Neala at 210-535-9925 if you can help.

*Thor - Therapy Dog hit by Semi-truck - please read!!

UPDATE: Vet is no longer taking donations as Thor was picked up today. (4-27-12)  *From Suzanne: "He has been moved from the smaller crate to a run and is getting use to his tri-pawd. I know he will be ok, he has a strong, strong will, a ridiculously strong body & his love for his family. With rehab & therapy, I have no doubt he will be just as mischievious and silly as before (possibly more so). I know he will still watch over my girl & now I will never get back my side of the bed."

Please, folks...look within and either donate as little as a dollar or as much as your heart and pocketbook will allow. Most of all...please circulate this heartwrenching story to help bring this family back to their life. Thor was brought into their lives for a very special reason and

*Rescue cats in need of rescue

4-16-12 Wonderful news!  All have been rescued!!Rescue cats in need of rescue About to close their doors, CLAWS needs to place *180 cats(*40 have been rescuedBy Ashley CLOUTIER

AUGUSTA — Located at 28 Pelletown Road in Augusta, CLAWS Animal Shelter is home to 180 cats — for now.
As of April 15, CLAWS will close their doors due to pressure from officials and health code violations. CLAWS founder and Laurie Walsh, 50, said “The County Board of Healthy and the NJSPCA say we aren’t complying with safety regulations because we don’t have concrete walls and floors. How are you supposed to put concrete walls onto a wooden frame? It just isn’t possible.”
CLAWS started when Walsh, working in Sussex Borough at the time, saw the number of stray cats around. Some were hurt, pregnant or injured, and Walsh knew she couldn’t continue to let them live on

*Jefferson City, TN: Upate: Macey has a new home!

Update:  Well, folks, the apple does not fall far from the tree.  Dr. Ealy's mother fostered Macey, then fell in love with her, so guess who's got a new mom! <3
Macey's owners, unable to afford medical care for her, brought her in to be euthanized.  Her guardian angel, in the form of a wonderful veterinarian intervened, knowing that Macey could walk again, and even if she does not regain full mobility, she can still love and enjoy life.  She cannot stay at the clinic and the owners still want her put down.  Please help us find her a new home!
I'm Carrie Ealy a veterinarian in Jefferson City, TN and I have had the pleasure of working with a little 7 year old female spayed dachshund named Macey who had a disk slip on

*Miami, FL: Please help me save my dog!

4-28-12  Sad Update:  "What was supposed to be a normal follow up appointment to remove his stitches, remove his cast and apply new cast went horribly wrong. From what we were told is that he was applied anesthesia to sedate him for only 30 seconds in order to remove his cast and stitches. But he did not wake up.......the doctor applied oxygen and tried to resuscitate him but he was gone. "  Run with the wind, sweet Bailey.

*Nashville, NC: URGENT: FOSTER MOM EMERGENCY: Puppy in peril

8-11-12:  Just look at how happy this precious girl is now!  She has a brand new family who shower her with love!

This little girl HAS GOT TO LEAVE HER CURRENT FOSTER HOME ASAP!!! The foster has received horrible personal news and must leave for awhile. She needs to move her foster babies asap and I am so scared I won't be able to help her quick enough!
The shelter here is a high kill gassing shelter and I don't know what is going to happen if I can't find a rescue/home fast. I am in the process of moving back to VA and there is no way I can take on anymore furbabies. I just picked up a lil hound mix girl yesterday and need to move her soon as possible myself.
PLEASE, I beg you for your help in getting this girl a place to go. She is FULLY VETTED!!!!
I pulled her from a local kill shelter a few months ago when she was only 6 to 7 weeks old. She was being called "the saddest little puppy in Rocky Nt". You can see why from her shelter pic. She is now a happy, sweet, sweet girl about 7 months old. She is trained to use the doggy door, gets along VERY well with kids and other dogs. Great on a leash, loves to ride in the car. Just an all around great dog. I do believe she will be a rather big dog by the size of those paws. lol
Any help will be so appreciated. I have to do something fast.
Thank you all for anything you can help do to find this baby a home!!!

Note from Hearts to the Rescue:  This baby's picture reminds me of
one the saddest pictures I've seen in rescue.  Please don't let this little one end up this way.
